Welcome to the Hampshire Anxiety Clinic, Chandlers Ford.
Mike Ward is the owner and consultant of the Anxiety clinic. He has over 10 years experience working for a trauma charity, helping and supporting children, teenagers and adults through trauma . Mike also provides a therapy service for the UK Police service and managed his own Employee assistance programme for a company of over 900 employees.
From these experiences, Mike specialisies in the whole spectrum of anxiety and trauma including fears, phobias and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He also owns the sucessful private practice, The London Anxiety Clinic in Wimpole Street. He is an experienced Psychotherapist, has a BA (Hons) in Therapeutic integrative therapy.Adding to his portfolio he has also trained to advanced Certificate level in CBT, Trauma and PTSD, including EMDR.
Adding to his continuation of research, he is currently undertaking further research and academic training at Kings College in London, studying the MSC in The Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health, and then towards a Doctorate. Mike is fascinated about the biological foundations of mental health and how neuroscience can support and inform appropriate, timely and evidenced based interventions. He is very much looking forward to this partiuclar area of research, learning from world renowned professors, with the value of being able to bring this knowldge back to his practce and clients. One of his continuing goals in life, is to help inform and improve mental health and well being for individuals and society.
Passionate and enjoying his academic learning, Mike returned to University and completed a Graduate Certificate in Psychology at the University of Winchester. He explains that it is crucial to keep up to date with the latest technology and research in the neuroscience and psychology of mental health, to better inform society and help improve mental health for all.
He keeps himself up to date with the latest research including neuroscience and cognitive and behavioural psychotherapies. This information provides him with a continual and healthy approach to providing you effective and modern therapeutic treatments. Mike also enjoys alternative therapies that can sit alongside some of the more modern and sceince based techniques, having trained as a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP coach in his earlier years.

A confidentiality statement can be provided on request, this outlines how we maintain confidentiality of the appointments and protection of your personal infomation. Consent is gained from yourself with regard to the treament plan. It is important for all our clientèle to know that we pride ourselves on offering a confidential and discreet service that protects your privacy and anonymity. Upon arrival at your appointment time, you will be greeted personally and taken to our consulting room.
Along with his recent academic training at University, he has also been awarded the Certificate of proficiency and is now a registered psychotherapist and counsellor with the BACP, and on the Accredited register, of the Professional standards authority, set up by the Government to improve standards and safety for the public using therapy services.
Referral sources
I receive referrals from, Doctors, psychologists, Occupational Health therapists, self referrals, schools, community mental health teams, youth charities, security professionals, private security firms and many different types of businesses. I am also invited to participate in work at both national and international levels. The larger majority of refferals are through word of mouth, from previous clients who advise their friends and families. Advertising only accounts for 2% to 3% of my total work.
Continuing Professional Development|orange
Continuing professional development plays an important part in maintaining a high standard of service that I provide to my clients, Each month I complete on average 10 hours, which includes a range of formal taught courses, reading, research and discussions with peers. Applying myself to this level each month, ensures that I am keeping up to date with the latest research and thus I am able to share and include relevant information to help clients with their particular issues. It keeps both my clinics at the forefront of providing a modern and effective service.

Costs are discussed and agreed individually with each client. Payment methods can be either cheque or via BACS(Charges for cancellations less then 24 hours are subject to the full fee of the appointment cost)
